About Lorneth

Dr. Lorneth Peters is a multifaceted professional—Professor, Marketer, Connector, Podcaster, and Insurance Broker, who has spent years empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners. She began her entrepreneurial journey by running her own company from 2007 to 2011 before transitioning to support small businesses in a more direct capacity. From 2019 to 2022, she served as the Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) under the Small Business Administration (SBA), where she helped businesses in middle Tennessee with startup guidance, securing loans, and increasing sales. Her work led to a capital injection of over $10 million and the creation of hundreds of jobs.

Lorneth played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding business owners through the complexities of the EIDL and PPP processes via webinars, one-on-one meetings, and connecting them with appropriate resources. She also led business consulting efforts for several towns, spearheading a Micro Enterprise initiative designed to empower underrepresented entrepreneurs through marketing, financial, and strategic planning support.

Currently, Lorneth serves as Vice President of Market Engagement and Digital Advertising at the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, where she supports 45 counties across the region. Beyond her professional life, Lorneth is actively involved in her community through various board appointments. She is a dedicated mother of two and has been happily married for nearly 20 years.
